My Journey Into Pie Begins...

I've been saying for ages that I'm gonna get one, and finally decided to go for it, and it arrived last night ... WOO HOO.

so I unboxed it, plugged it in, and connected a monitor to it... NOTHING :(

mmm best start reading some kind of how to guide me thinks..

Ah I need a SD card loaded with an OS.. of course I do DOH!!! Silly old me, thinking it had some kind of OS loaded on it.

So I got my new 16gb SD card I bought for my camera, stuck it in my computer, downloaded Raspbian “wheezy” , put the image onto the card using win32diskimager , put the card into my pie (ooh er mrs), plugged in the pie and there she was ... it was a beautiful moment.

After playing around I soon got bored and thought right what do I want to do first with it?? Media center.

so looked at XBMC and found the easiest way was to do it was raspbmc. THIS IS WHERE THE FUN BEGAN...

I only had 1 SD card around and that is what I used to put the wheezy image onto my pie, putting this card back into my computer to reformat it to then put raspmc didn't work, my PC didn't like the card as it was formatted with a linux image (bugger).

I couldn't find anything that would let me reformat this card, then I read that if you put it in your camera, that will format it, so I did and it did which was nice, but then my card could be seen, but trying to open caused an error. I then thought "I wonder if I can right click and format?"... yep I can WOO HOO, so I then loaded this raspbmc on to it, let it install, (which took a while and needed a wired connection to my pie) and tried it out and bingo, another beautiful moment, it's just a pity I don't have time to play any more and then Mason decides to throw up all over his bedroom... and that is the end of my 1st night pie-ing :(

sorry for the rambling, this blog will get better I promise :)

GOOD PIE!!!!
